Andrea K. Tettleton is a Partner with Seabaugh & Sepulvado LLC and managing attorney of the Baton Rouge sector of the firm’s oil and gas division. Andrea graduated magna cum laude from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2006. Andrea obtained her Juris Doctorate cum laude from Louisiana State University in 2009. Andrea was recognized as a 2024 Influential Women in Energy Honoree by Hart Energy. Andrea was selected as a Louisiana Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of Energy and Natural Resources for the years 2019 through 2024. She was awarded the Judge Joseph Keogh Memorial Award in 2015 for her service to the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
Andrea has over fifteen years of experience in advising upstream energy companies in their exploration and production operations, with an emphasis on title examination and transactional matters. Her practice focuses on examination of land, mineral and leasehold title, drafting title opinions and division order work. She has extensive experience drafting, interpreting, and negotiating contractual provisions in oil and gas related contracts, curative instruments, and joint operating agreements. Andrea has advised clients during the acquisition and divestiture process of mineral and leasehold interests. She has also assisted clients in conducting probate procedures within Louisiana. Andrea is admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana and the State of Texas.
Andrea regularly presents on topics relative to oil and gas title examination in Louisiana. Most recently, Andrea delivered the Keynote Address for the Horizon Breakfast during the 2023 AAPL Annual Conference. She has also presented at the 2023 ALTAPL Educational Seminar, the 2022 NADOA Institute, the 2022 NALTA Conference, the 2022 Gulf Coast Land Institute, the NADOA 2021 Summer Luncheon Series, the 2019 LAPL Spring Seminar and the 2016 Mineral Law Institute.
Andrea is currently serving as the Immediate Past President of the Women’s Energy Network Global Board. She previously served as President (2023), President Elect (2022) and Secretary (2020-2021) of the WEN Global Board. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Foundation for the Women’s Energy Network. In August of 2022, Andrea was named to the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute Advisory Council. She is also a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Baton Rouge Association of Professional Landmen (Board of Directors 2014-2016), Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen, Professional Landmen Association of New Orleans, West Houston Professional Landmen Association, the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association, and Women’s Energy Network South Louisiana Chapter (Special Events Coordinator 2015; Vice President 2016; President 2017; Past President 2018). Andrea also has a strong passion for the arts and was recently elected to the Board of Governors for the Theatre Baton Rouge.
